Obituary of Florence Celestial Doherty

Doherty, Florence Celestial- age 93 years of Orchard Court (Shannex) in Kentville and formerly of Waterville, went to her eternal home peacefully with son Ron and neice Joyce by her side on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013. Born in Ohio, Lunenburg Co., she was the daughter of the late Everett and Mildred Emino. She was a loving mother and friend to her son Ron for over 74 years. She was a faithful attendee of the Coldbrook Baptist Church. She was a hard working lady with a beautiful smile. She loved to garden, knit, embroider and keep her house neat and clean, never sitting idle. She worked for a number of years in housekeeping at the Grandview Manor. She loved her cats Tommy, Tinker and Peanut. She is survived by her son Ron (Ellen) Doherty of Cambridge; brothers Marcel (Margie) Emino and Jimmy Emino of Simpson’s Corner, Wilfred (Jenny) Emino of Port Williams and Winfred (Dorothy) Emino of Scarborough, ON also by a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford, sister Marie and sister in law Victoria. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 1st, 2013 from 2-4pm at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel in Berwick, from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at 1pm with Rev. Wayne Merrill officiating. Donations in memory of Florence made to the Coldbrook Baptist Church or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
