BECKER LOIS LAURA ( 67 ) Of Kentville Formally of Mordon Left us peacefully on July 20th 2003 from her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Smith Falls, Ontario she was the daughter of Harry and Ethel ( Rutherford ) Mundy. Lois was instrumental in starting a family business of moving companies, Beckers Movers in Ontario then Mayflower /Acme Transfer and later Guardian / Atlas . Lois, with her family by her side worked with determination and dedication. The companies she formed were filled with loving and caring employees that were all considered as part of her own family. Lois was a good natured and accepting person that opened her home not only to her own family but it was considered a safe and comfortable haven to a lot of children in her neighborhood .gardening and crafts also brought her great joy. In 1989 Lois retired and moved from Ontario and made her home here in Nova Scotia. Lois loved people and would often touch their hearts with her great sense of humor, her ability to handle any situation was admired by all who knew her, She loved a good party and lots of fun. A true and faithful friend to all. A loving and compassionate Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter and, Grandmother and friend. Lois will be sadly and greatly missed by all who's lives she touched. Surviving are her loving mother Ethel ( Rutherford ) Mundy - Welland, Ont., husband William Flinn, Kentville Daughters Deborah Jones- Garland, Susan ( Lewis ) Oickle - Aylesford, Carrollynne Findly - Wilmot, Leisa ( Michael ) Lutz - Mordon, Kings Co. And stepson John ( Jan ) Becker - England Brothers, Wallace and William ( Arlene ) Mundy - Welland, Ont., Sister Nancy ( Douglas ) Fox - Welland, Ont. eight loving grandchildren Veronica & Vanessa Jones, Thomas & Cassandra Oickle, Lois and Marsha Findley, Alicia Becker. She was pre deceased by her father Harry Mundy, husband Thomas Becker - Morden, N.S. a brother Ronald Mundy, sister faith and sister in law Norma Mundy - Welland Ont. Cremation has taken place and no visitation by request. A memorial service celebrating Lois's life will be held Wednesday July 23rd at 6 P.M. from the Aylesford United Church, Aylesford. Pastor Kay Dean will officiate with a private internment in the Union Cemetery. A reception will follow the service, all are invited to share in fellowship with the family. in lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to The Canadian Red Cross, The Canadian Cancer Society or the Valley Chapter of the VON or Valley Palliative Care Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Cremation & Funeral Specialists Inc.
