Brown, Gordon Hibbert, âBrown Dogâ (CD ) - age78, Dartmouth, passed away heroically in the late evening of March 14, 2013 at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital, Halifax. He was Born in Summerville, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Gordon grew up in Windsor and his adventurous life style led him from one coast of Canada to another as a proud member of Canadaâsâ Armed Forces (Navy) for 28 years followed by 10 years in the Beaufort Sea on supply vessels for Dome Petroleum, before entering retirement. He was also a serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 and the Admiral Densmond Piers Association Bridgewater. He married his partner in love and life, Alice (Murphy) Brown. Together they raised two wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter and in turn, perfected the art of spoiling six wonderful grandchildren. Gordonâs passions were country living, and he was a jack of all trades and self professed, âMaster of Noneâ. He loved âkicking arseâ in card and board games. Gordon loved his time with friends and family and always looked forward to seeing them. Quick to strike up a conversation with a stranger he was always making new acquaintances while keeping the old friendships alive. He was a funny, warm-hearted, giving and forgiving man. Gordon will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him, and his great jokes and laughs. Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years of marriage, Alice (Murphy) Brown, proud sons, Tony Brown, Wayne Brown (Lynn Blackstock) and daughter Prudence (John) Kennedy; loving grandchildren Melissa (Dermaid) Fitzgerald, Tyler (Amanda) Brown, Kayleigh (Ryan) Conrad, Chelsea (Chris) Coffin, Joshua Kennedy, Breagh Brown and six great-grandchildren and many, In-laws, nieces and nephews.
