Salsman, Lillian Love – age 97 years of Grandview Manor; passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11th, 2013. Born on September 22nd, 1915 in Waterville, NS; she was the daughter of the late Emery and Addie (Rogers) Salsman. During her working years, Lillian was the head of housekeeping at the Kings County Hospital and ReHab Center. Lillian was a member of the Waterville Baptist Church and the “Sharon Club”, where she loved getting together with the ladies to make quilts and crafts. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughter Valerie Hazlett and her husband Dave of Lockhartville, NS, Betty Wright of Ontario and sister June Salsman of Waterville, NS; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Blake Salsman in April 2011; son William Harrison; brothers David, LeRoy, Noble, Donald, Laurie, Sidney and William; sisters Jessie Rafuse and Molly Butts. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 21st, 2012 at 1pm from the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel in Berwick with Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Burial will take place in the Berwick Cemetery. In memory of Lillian, donations made to the N.S. Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Waterville Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated by her family.
