Melanson, Brian Walter - age 52 years of Plympton, NS, passed away peacefully at home on February 15th, 2013. Born in Digby, NS on September 12th, 1961, he was the son of the late Sydney and Kathleen (Fredericks) Melanson. Brian worked as a fish cutter for many fish plants in the Digby area and was also a clam digger; he also loved the beach, going four wheeling and many other outdoor activities. He was not only a great father to his children, but beloved father figure to many which whom they called “daddy”. Left with fond and loving memories are his son Sydney James Melanson of Plympton, NS; daughter Megan Stark of Digby, NS; mother of his children Carlene LaFarge of Salmon River; granddaughter Cadence; brothers John Melanson, David Melanson and Christopher Melanson all of Plympton, NS; sisters Betty Melanson (Craig O’Neil) of Plympton, NS; sister in law Mary Anne Melanson of Bridgetown, NS; also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Edward Melanson and sisters Carolyn Harnish and Darlene (Melanson) LePlante. In keeping with Brian's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22nd, 2013 at 2pm from the Calvary Baptist Church (Hwy 101) with Rev. Randy Rissinger oficiating. In memory of Brian, donations made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Berwick.
