Daniels, Wesley Lloyd – 36, of Black Rock; passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Born in Chemainus, B.C.; he was a son of Angie (Harrichhausen) and the late Bill Daniels. Wes graduated from Central Kings High School in 1994 and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at Acadia University in 1999. After graduation, he worked as a Carpenter, Props Builder and Painter for theatres throughout Nova Scotia. He also worked in Ireland, California and British Columbia. While working in Vancouver in 2007, Wes was accepted into the design program at the National Theatre School in Montreal. After studying in Quebec, he moved back to Nova Scotia, working as a Props Builder at Neptune Theatre and designing sets and props for many local theatre companies. During his career he worked for many theatres including The Atlantic Theatre Festival, Neptune Theatre, Ship’s Company Theatre, Valley Summer Theatre, Chester Playhouse, Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Segal Centre for the Arts, LunaSea Theatre, Frankie Productions, and the SuperNova Theatre Festival. A lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis only strengthened his resolve to live what was a remarkable life. He will be remembered for his strength, dignity, generosity and commitment to his community. Besides his mother he is survived by his paternal grandmother Mary (Sweeny) Daniels, Burlington; maternal grandmother Inge (Oswald) Harrichhausen, Black Rock; brothers Mark (Brandie), Black Rock; Jordon, Halifax; nephew Tyler; nieces Jill and Ava; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. As well as his father, Wes is predeceased by his sister Heidi; paternal grandfather Lorimer; and maternal grandfather Herman Harrichhausen. In keeping with Wes’ wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, February 9 at 1 p.m. in the Daniels Family Cemetery, Barley Street, Burlington; followed by a Memorial Service at 3pm in the Black Rock Cultural and Recreational Hall, 4404 Black Rock Road. Donations in Wes’ memory may be made to the Stephen Russell Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home and Serenity Crematorium, Berwick.
