Wolsey, Donald Francis "Don" - 89, Coldbrook, Kings Co., died on Sunday, December 6, 2009, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Douglas, Ontario, he was a son of the late R. Joseph. and H. Mabel (Francis) Wolsey. Don was a veteran of the Second World War, he was a flight engineer and flew Canso Antisubmarine Aircraft between Iceland and England ahead of convoys. He later sold Fuller Brush and Rawleigh products and retired as a Commissionaire at Acadia University, Wolfville. Don wrote two books: "A Canadian Speaks Out" and " A Canadian Speaks Out 2nd. Edition Plus". Surviving are his children, Gerald (Marlene) Wolsey, Berwick; Donna (Brian) Aalders, Waterville; Kevin (Debby) Wolsey, Parrsboro; Karen Wolsey, Coldbrook; Donnie (Irene) Wolsey, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Tammy, Natasha and Jessica; Elysia, Katrina, Brittany and Justin; Lee Ann and Lorraine; Jasmine and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Sara, Kayla, Kendra, Zoe, Cody and Giffin; brother, Ken (Ethel) Wolsey, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Thelma (Rhodenizer) Wolsey; sisters, Goldie MacDougall and Jean Zyla. Visitation for Don will take place 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 10. Rev. Wayne Merrill officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation.
