Obituary of B. Woodworth

Please share a memory of B. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
91, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Saturday September 13, 2008, in the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born on May 9, 1917, in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Lorimer and Florence (Haley) Woodworth. Pauline had worked for 25 years with Maritime Tel & Tel as a travelling instructress. After her retirement from MT&T, she worked part-time as a receptionist at the Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick. Pauline enjoyed playing bridge and doing a variety of crafts including knitting, crocheting and chair caning. She was one of only a few people in the area who had mastered the art of chair caning and her skills were in high demand. She not only caned chairs for others, she also taught classes so that her students could cane their own chairs. Pauline was very proud of her flower gardens both at home and at her cottage in Turners Brook, where she spent a great deal of her time. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Charles Woodworth, who was killed in action in the Second World War; Roland (Joyce) & James (Mildred) Woodworth; and her beloved cat, "Muffy". Surviving are nephews, Charles (Marianne) Woodworth, Berwick; Michael (Nancy) Woodworth, South Berwick; Robert (Jane) Woodworth, Berwick; nieces, Marie (Charles) White, Coldbrook; Marcia (Bob) Lutz, Turners Brook. Special thanks to Peggy & Eric Silver and employees at Silver's Rest Home as well as the employees at Evergreen Home For Special Care for their excellent care. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to a graveside service for Pauline which will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday September 17, in the Berwick Cemetery. Rev. Linda Winton officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to any charity. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Condolences may be made by visiting: www.hclindsayfuneralhome.ca
