Obituary of Muriel Walker

88 of New Minas, passed away Tuesday December 11, 2007 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Maitland Bridge, Annapolis Co., she was the daughter of the late Edson and Laura (Smith) Lohnes. Mrs. Walker was a very active member of the Eastern Star Annapolis Chapter # 31. She was employed for many years with Hoyt's Canada and Weavexx from where she retired. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Muriel is survived by daughters, Laura (Clarence) Smith, Upper Coverdale, N.B., Emily Martin, Lunenburg; sister, Marie (Anthony) Croft, Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by brothers, Fred, Harold, Clair and Winston; sisters, Gladys, Jean and Myrtle; one great grandchild. There will be no visitation for Mrs. Walker, by her family's request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday December 14 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Avenue, Kentville (902-678-2151) with Alex Mosher officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Kentville. No flowers please, however donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Institute of the Blind.
