BEST HELENA BLANCH - 89 of Windsor formally of Nictaux Falls, passed away peacefuly Tuesday July 15, 2003 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor.
Born in Centerville, Digby County she was the daughter of the late Byron and Susan (Cossaboom) Prime.
Helena was employed for the Town Of Middleton working in the business office, she retired in 1978 serving 20 plus years on staff. A long time member and supported of the Nictaux Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, choir member and one of the founding members of the Nictaux Friendly Club. Helena will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving, daughters Maxine ( Donald ) Whynot; Windsor,. Ethel Bramston; Burlington, Ontario, Mary Redden, Bridgewater Anna ( William ) Richards, Windsor.
Son Eugene ( Carol ) Best, Estevan, Saskatchuan
Sisters Violet White, Middleton, Florence Veinot, Torbrook, Anna ( Felix ) Doucette, New Edinburg, N.S. And brother Melbourne Prime, Peterbourgh, Ontario
14 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren 1 step great grandson several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Helena was predeceased by her husband Everett Best, sisters Ida Dakin, Christina Cann, Edith Prime and a son Gordon Prime.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 16th at 11 AM from the Nictaux Baptist Church, Rev. Ron Baxter assisted by Rev. Bill McLeod will officiate with a private family internment in the Nictaux Cemetery. There will be a reception following the service at the
Nictaux Christian Center.
Family flowers only by request and donations in memory of the late Helena Best may be made to the Nictaux Baptist Church Sunday School, Friends Of Dykeland Lodge or the charity of ones choice.
