76, of Kingston, passed away peacefully Friday March 14, 2008 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, after a short but valiant fight with cancer, with his "special girls" (daughters) by his side. Born December 22, 1931 in Chatham, NB., he was a son of the late Francis and Laura (Bernard) Springer.. Bob was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church in Kingston. He served on the HMCS Saguenay from 1954 - 1959. He loved to go to yard sales and to flea markets. Bob loved working on electronics especially clocks. Bob enjoyed preparing and sharing a good meal and good times with family and friends. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. A special thank-you to Bob's niece Valerie, Miramichi; nephew, Frank, Moncton NB.; and special friend, Margie, Kingston, your love and support is appreciated and will not be forgotten. Bob is survived by his daughters, Heather , Oshawa, Ont.; Christine (Jim), Lr. Sackville; Barbara, Lr. Sackville; brothers, John (Jack), Ont.; Marven, Fredericton; sister, Ella (Nellie), Middleton; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by brothers, George, Francis (Frank), William (Willy), Charles; sisters, Mary, Laura and Pearl. There will be no visitation for Mr. Springer by his family's request. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday March 18 in the All Saints Anglican Church, Kingston with Rev. Liz Early officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S.
