87, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of North Aldershot, passed away Thursday March 13, 2008 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Forest City, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Percy and Mary (Brewster) Henshaw. Annie was a member of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for many years and enjoyed volunteering for church fundraisers. Annie was very social, she loved music and dancing. Annie had a great love for her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren, she loved to bake cookies with them. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Annie is survived by her son, Donald Jr. (Diane), Dartmouth; daughters, Dianne Crawley, Texas; Carolyn Spencer, Kentville; brothers, Richard, New Minas; Earl, Hantsport; Warren, Hantsport; sisters, Alma O'Brien, New Minas; Irene Schofield, Ontario, Alice Parker, New Minas, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Donald Spencer; sons, Vincent and Michael, daughter, Kathleen; brothers, Joseph, Gordon, George, Sheldon, Paul and infant brother, Harry; sister Ida. Visitation for Mrs. Spencer will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday March 16, 2008 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151). A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday March 17, 2008 in Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot. Rev. Thelma McLeod and Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to Bethany Memorial Baptist Church.
