83, formerly of Waterville, Nova Scotia, passed away September 20, 2008, in North Vancouver. She was the daughter of the late Perry Dean and Marjorie (Barteaux) Pineo. Shirley served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, she was employed with the Royal Bank of Canada and the University of British Columbia. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, and served as Past Matron of the Burrard Chapter #3; Daughters of the Nile; and was an avid quilter, knitter and dog breeder. She is survived by her brother, Richard "Dick" Pineo (Lola); niece, Karen (Tim) Simpson; nephew, Alan Clarke; brother-in-law, Harry Clarke; nephew, Stephen (Linda) Clarke; niece, Carol-Anne (Clarke) Axford (Sean Kelly); and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Waller and her sister Valerie Clarke. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m. at H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS B0P 1E0 (1-902-538-9900). Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
