73, Port Williams, passed away Thursday October 30, 2008 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Port Williams, he was a son of the late Cecil and Lillian (Hiltz) Thomson. Curtis was a life long resident of Port Williams and was very involved in the village and many areas of the Valley. He was very proud to be a third generation painter/contractor. It was through his humour and kindness that made him so many friends throughout the years. Curtis was an active member of the Port Williams Baptist Church. He was a member of the Canning Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, Kentville Branch and a past member of the Port Williams Fire Dept. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Curtis is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Roberts) Thomson, Port Williams; sons, Christopher (Heather), Kentville, Kevin, New Minas; daughter, Karen (Daniel) Thornton, Cole Harbour; step sons, Darren (Lori) Bezanson, Kentville, Chris (Heather) Bezanson, Alb.; step daughter, Kathi (Brian Stewart) Graves, Port Williams; brothers, William (Vera), Port Williams Walter, Port Williams; sisters, Mary Hancock, Greenwich, Carol (Frank) Prospero, Burlington, Ont.; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Curtis was predeceased by his first wife, Linda (Martin) Thomson; son, Brian Todd; step son, Troy Bezanson; brothers, Murray and Avery; sisters, Rhoda, Greta and Peggy. Visitation for Mr. Thomson will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday November 2 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151). A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday November 3 in the Port Williams United Baptist Church. Rev. David Ogilvie officiating. Interment will take place in Canard Burial Grounds. Family flowers only please, however donations in memory may be made to Port Williams United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
