59, Annapolis Valley First Nation, Cambridge Station, Kings Co., passed away Saturday November 22, 2008, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Smith) Toney. Jerome loved driving his cart and collecting bottles. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. The second Jerome would hear the fire alarm he would follow along to see what was happening. Jerome was always just a phone call away if someone needed some where to go. Surviving are his wife, Elaine Toney; daughters, Theresa (Lee Deadder); Grace (Joey Hamilton), all of Cambridge Station; Cynthia; sons, Eugene, Cape Breton; Larry, all of Cape Breton; step-children, James Dunham, Port Williams; Phillip Dunham, Shelburne; brothers, Lawrence, Gary, Ricky, Randy; sisters, Janette Peterson; Marilyn Kennedy; Anita Toney; Charlotte Fralick; grandchildren, Jayden, Brody, Camerin, all of Cambridge Station; Deanna, Kentville. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Laverne. Visitation for Jerome will take place 7-9 p.m. tonight (Monday) in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Tuesday November 25, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Mill St., Berwick. Rev. Fr. Larry Pitcher officiating, with burial in St. Bernadette's Church Cemetery, Annapolis Valley First Nation. Donations in his memory may be made to any charity.
