77, Grand View Manor, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Stoney Island, Barrington, Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Quinlan) Reid. Alta had been a resident of Berwick, for a number of years. She enjoyed knitting and her visits from family and friends and had a great love for collecting Knickknacks and will be sadly missed by many family and friends. Surviving are her children, Myles (Darlene), Upper Cornwall; Paul (Debbie), Antigonish; Roger, Saint John, N.B.; Glenn, British Columbia; Allison, Alberta; Paulette (Clarence) Duffney, Lunenburg; Carolyn (the late Garnet) Hall, Shubenacadie; Vivian (Ralph) Taylor, Alberta; Crystal (Tim) Beals, Waterville; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur, New Brunswick; sister, Joyce (Joe) Hardiman, Ontario. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul Taylor; son, Clayton; brother, Freeman Reid. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place 1 p.m. Friday April 3, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Linda Winton officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Fidelis House Society, Kentville or to the Grand View Manor.
