58, North Alton, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick he was a son of the late Cecil and Esther (Porter) Sanford. Budd worked for Co-op Atlantic for 29 years in various positions until he retired in 1999. He then started Sanford Custom Software doing contract work for Co-op Atlantic and other companies until his health would not allow. Budd was a loving husband, father and friend. He loved to laugh and enjoyed life. He loved his family and the Lord very much. Budd devoted most of his life to the service of the church serving as Deacon at North Alton Baptist Church and past Deacon at Burlington Baptist Church. Budd enjoyed working with youth and was an AWANA Commander for 22 years. He was also a youth leader and Sunday school teacher for many years at both churches. Budd is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; sons, Curtis (Terra), Eastern Passage; Alexander, North Alton; daughters, Cecelia and Bonita, both of North Alton; brothers, Manson (Alice), Moncton, N.B.; Emerson (Cheryl), Canmore, Alta.; Donald (Marie), Somerset; Duane (Chris), Elgin, N.B.; Ervin (Karen), Black Rock; sisters, Barbara (Boyd) Meisner, Black Rock; Olivia (Jack) Young, Aylesford; Carole (David) Rinzler, Riverview, N.B.; Verna (Richard) Ward, Coldbrook and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Beverly Foster. Visitation for Mr. Sanford will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 8, in North Alton Baptist Church (The ARC) where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Quincy Collins officiating. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery. Donations in Budd's memory may be made to the Teen Challenge Atlantic Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or to Alton Baptist Church.
