89, Wolfville / Wallbrook, passed away July 10, 2009, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born July 21, 1919, in Melanson, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Alice (Anderson) Keith. Kate was a lifelong resident of the Wallbrook area where she was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking and caring for her family. She was a member of Wallbrook Baptist Church. She was an avid card player and enjoyed travelling. Kate's family was very important to her and she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by sons, John (Danette Atwell), Gaspereau Mountain; Donald (Glenda), Wallbrook; brother, Ralph "Sonny" (Theo) Matsell, Kentville; foster daughter, Marcia (Russell) Alders, Chipman Brook; grandchildren, Troy, David, Jennifer and Kaileigh; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alex and Emma; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Weldon Bambrick, West Brooklyn. Besides her parents, Kate was predeceased by her husband, Charles; brother, Samuel (Faye) Keith and sister, Mary (Lorne) Benjamin. Visitation for the late Catherine Smith will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, in Gaspereau Baptist Church, Rev. Mark Shaw officiating. Interment will take place in Gaspereau Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Wallbrook Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
