Obituary of Edgar Rose

82, of Kentville passed away peacefully on Saturday March 29, 2008, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Urbania, Hants Co., he was a son of the late Creighton Rose and Maude (Vaughan) Smith. Edgar owned and operated his own Masonry business for over 40 yrs. He was a member of the United Baptist Church, Kentville. He was a member of the Kentville Legion and was in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He enjoyed music, dancing and his hobby farm. Edgar is survived by his son, Michael (Maki), Toronto; daughter, Treasure (Harry) Moore, Kentville; brother, Earl, Oshawa, Ont.; sister, Laura Pudsey, New Minas; grandsons, Luke, Joshua; Jeremy and Edward "Eddie"; granddaughter, Emily; many nieces and nephews. Edgar was predeceased by his wife, Melita (Halliday) Rose; his brother, George; sisters, Ella, Edith and Ruby. Visitation for Mr. Rose will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday April 2, 2008 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151). A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday April 3, 2008 in the United Baptist Church, Kentville, with Rev. McNally and Rev. Robert Billings officiating. A reception will be following the funeral service in the church hall. A private family interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.
