88, Wolfville, formerly of Canning, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in Annandale Rest Home, Wolfville. Born in Canning, she was the daughter of the late John (Reginald) and Eliza (Healy) North. Bessie was a very well-respected lady who went the extra mile to help many people. She was a member of the United Church in Canning and was well-known for her paintings, poems and her many daily walks. Bessie had a great sense of humour and will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends. There will be a memorial service for Bessie on Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. in Pereau Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dan Gibson officiating. A private burial will take place in Hillaton Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, 902-678-2151. Donations in Memory of Bessie can be made to the spaying and neutering program of the S.P.C.A.
