76, Windermere, Kings Co. passed away at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on Wednesday May 14, 2008. Born in Windermere, on October 31, 1931, he was the eldest born to Ralph and Flora (Barkhouse) McKenzie. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Norman worked for James Silver Trucking and Berwick Fruit Company, from where he retired in 1989. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Hilda (Gould) McKenzie, Windermere; two nieces & five nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Stanley McKenzie; sister, Margaret Rose Huntley. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A public graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday May 20, in the Berwick Cemetery. Rev. Donald Hirtle officiating, with a reception to follow in the Windermere Hall. No flowers, by request, donations in his memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia, 17 Alma Crescent, Halifax, N.S., B3N 3E6. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the H.C.
