81, Berwick Kings Co. It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, on Wednesday August 20, 2008 in the V.G. Site Hospital, Halifax. Born in Somerset, she was a daughter of the late Manson and Eva (Sawlor) Redden. Evelyn was an active member of the Berwick Baptist Church, the church choir, the MacPherson Auxiliary and was a member of several bridge clubs. She worked as a licensed hair dresser in the Berwick area for many years. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Evelyn is survived by her son, David (Brenda) McCarrol, Waterville; daughter Patricia (Stephen) Shand, St. Albert, Alb.; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several cousins and her special friend, Carl Bancroft. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Sgt. Neil McCarrol (RCAF); granddaughter, Karen MacPhail; brothers, Lorimer and Robert Redden and her sister, Frances MacArthur. There will be no visitation by the family's request. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday August 23, 2008 in the Berwick Baptist Church, Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Berwick Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S. B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900). In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia or to the Berwick Baptist Church.
