88, Waterville, Kings Co., formerly of Woodville, Kings Co., passed away Saturday October 25, 2008, in the Veteran's Wing of Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Chipman Brook, Kings Co. he was a son of the late Clarence and Eva (Misner) Misner. Perry was a veteran of the Second World War, was a bombardier of the Royal Canadian Artillery and had been radar operator for five years during the war. Following the war he took a carpentry course in Windsor and had worked all of his life as a cabinet maker and finish carpenter. He also worked in carpentry with his brother, Wesley. Perry was an adherent of the Baptist Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ethel M. (Doherty) Misner, Waterville; sons, Larry (Linda) Misner, Powell River, B.C.; Martin (Maple) Misner, Chilliwack, B.C.; grandsons, Ryan (Joni) Misner, Merritt, B.C.; Devin (Jahzel) Misner, Port Coquitlam, B.C.; great-grandson, Todd Misner, Merritt, B.C.; numerous nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Melvin, Marchant, LeRoy, Lindsay & Wesley Misner; sisters, Mabel "Mayme" Wheaton; Ruby Steele. In accordance to Perry's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Royal Canadian Legion & Funeral Service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday November 1, followed by a reception all in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Pastors Tim & Christina Bigelow officiating, with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, at a later date.
