65, Morristown, Kings Co., passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at home. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Henry and Edith (Reid) Olmstead. Henry had worked in Steel Construction in Ontario and in Nova Scotia as a woodsman and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Verna M. (Connors); daughter, Donna (Ken) Harper, Lakeville; son, Steven (Jenn) Olmstead, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Henryetta, Amanda, Marlena, Johnathon; sisters, Josephine (Dick) Arenburg, South Alton; Carol (Garnet) Strong, Canaan; brothers, William (Margaret) Olmstead, Harbourville; Howie (Patti) Olmstead, Windermere; Miles (Alice) Olmstead, Halls Harbour; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Richard Olmstead. Visitation for Henry will take place 7-9 p.m., Friday in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday March 7. Rev. Brian Wheaton and Rev. Barbara Durling officiating, with burial in the Morristown Cemetery, at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
