95, New Minas, Kings Co., passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in West Brooklyn on June 19, 1913, he was a son of the late Ernest and Minnie (Pinch) King. He was the last surviving member of his family. He worked on farms in Medford until 1950, then he went to work at Camp Aldershot, later joining the commissionaires. He enjoyed playing 45's, flea markets and yard sales. He is survived by son, Ernest (Edith), Wolfville; daughters, Donna Marr (Alison Chute), Minnie Crossman (Gary Benedict), both of Kentville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; niece, Hilda MacDonald, West Brooklyn; brother-in-law, Claude (Joyce) Dunham, Centreville. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Dunham) in 1993; son, Herbert; grandson, Duane; three brothers and four sisters. No visitation by family request. The funeral service will be held in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, Kentville at 2 p.m. Tuesday August 19, with Rev. Donald Rafuse officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will take place in West Brooklyn Cemetery.
