73, Kentville formerly of New Minas, passed away Tuesday August 12, 2008 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Beaverbank, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Cecila (Lively) Grove. Marlene was a very loving and caring person who loved people and loved to have fun. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, bingo, painting and scratch tickets. She always took part in many of the activities in Evergreen. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Marlene is survived by her sons, St. Clair (Stella), Blue Mountain, Carl, Ottawa; daughters, May (Mitch) Crocker, Hantsport, Phyllis (Andy) Weir, White Rock; brothers, Edward (Gertrude), Beaverbank, Leonard, River John, Bruce (Elaine) New Minas; sisters, Martina (Johnny) Boyd, Windsor; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Mailen Joudrey; sons, Ivan and Perry; daughter, Theresa and sister, Linda. Visitation for Mrs. Joudrey will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday August 14 from the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151) where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday August 15. Chaplain Jim Norton officiating assisted by Chaplain Mary-Ann Doherty-Fleet. Interment will take place in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Aaldersville. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Diabeties Association or to Evergreen Home for Special Care.
