80, of Avonport, passed away Thursday May 22, 2008, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by his family. Born in Avonport, he was the son of the late Lewis and Clara Duncan. He worked at the Minas Basin for 43 yrs, the Fruit Company in Wolfville and Annapolis Valley Construction and Municipal Spraying. Fred was a member of the Stoney Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 yrs, Yvonne (Barteaux) Duncan; son, Terrence, Port Williams; daughters, Pauline (Michael) Coffin, Hantsport; Debra (Kevin) Veinotte, New Ross; grandsons, Mark Dykens, New Ross; Chris (Angelina) Coffin, Hantsport; sister, Lillian Doucette, Avonport; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brothers, Perry, Malcolm and Ronald; sisters, Marguerite and Pauline. Visitation for Mr. Duncan will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday May 23, 2008 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 568 Main St., Wolfville (902-542-2151). From where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday May 24, 2008 with his daughter; Rev. Pauline Coffin and Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will take place in Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré. Donations in memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia.
