80, Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away Wednesday September 10, 2008, in North Hills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry. Born in Centreville (Cape Sable Island), Shelburne Co., she was a daughter of the late Burton & Matilda (Quinlan) Atwood. Mary had attended school in South Berwick and also Macks Business College, Kentville. She had worked for D.N.D. in Cold Lake Alberta, Shearwater, Greenwood & Lahr, Germany. Surviving are her brothers, James (Doris) Atwood, South Berwick; Phelton Atwood, Coldbrook; Henry (Kathleen) Shand, Truro; sister, Kathleen Diprofio, Berwick; several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Irma Baxter; Niamah Shand. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral service which will take place 2 p.m. Saturday September 13, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
