89, New Minas formerly of Canning, passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Bigelow) Davison. Mary was a life member of Canning United Baptist Church and a member of the Glooscap Rebekah Lodge. She also loved listening to some of her favorite music. Mary was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Marion), New Minas; Michael (Sherry), Canning; daughters, Brenda (James) Redmond, New Minas; Doris (Hank) Keizer, Kentville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and sister, Claudene (Harold) Silver, Canning. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, William; brothers, Gordon, Earl, Walter, Vernon, Edward, Robert; sister, Laura Silver and Jean MacLaren; one grandson, and very special friend, Leo Gielen. Visitation for Mrs. Evans will be today from 7-9 p.m. in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville, (902-678-2151). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, at 11 a.m. in the Canning United Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Locke officiating. Interment will take place in Habitant Cemetery. Family flowers only.
