80, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully Thursday, November 5, 2009, in North Hills Nursing Home, Granville Ferry, with her family at her side. Born May 19, 1929, Cheshire, England, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Gladys Newton. She is survived by her husband, Derek "Jim", Berwick; son, Michael, Toronto, Ont.; daughter, Susan Stainton (Terry), Dartmouth; Jill (Larry) McNeil, Dartmouth; beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Michael (Jenn), Lawrence (Erica), Heather; great grandchildren, Jordan Stainton, Ava McNeil, son-in-law, David Stainton; twin sister, Pamela; sister, Gloria (Brian); special cousin, Nancy Gill & many nieces and nephews - all living in England. After serving in the Women's Royal Naval Service 1947-49, Pat emigrated to Canada with her family. She worked many years at Owl Drug Store, Woodlawn Medical Clinic and in her true career as a florist in Dartmouth and the Valley. Pat was an active member of her church and community and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. A creative soul, Pat was always busy: Baking, tole painting, gardening, choir member - these are just a few of her many interests. Special thanks to dear friends Sharon and Dave Kilcup and the caring staff of North Hills Nursing Home. Cremation has taken place. A reception will take place in the Christ Anglican Church Hall, 238 Commercial St., Berwick, on Friday, November 13, from 2 - 4 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Wyndholme Christian Church, 44 Wydholme Ave., Dartmouth, Saturday, November 14, at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow. Charitable contributions can be made to the Kings Co. SPCA, Wyndholme Church or to a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the H.C.
