93 of Wolfville formerly of Avonport passed away Wednesday June 24, 2009 in Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Greenfield, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Demont) Schofield. Mae was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a skilled seamstress. She loved camping in her trailer, gardening and music. She will be missed by her many family and friends. She loved her Sunday dinners with her family and the afternoon drive. She loved to cook and bake and there was always room for more at the table. Mae is survived by her sister, Jessie Oickle; sons, Cecil (Linda), New Minas; Dennis (Diane), Mount Denson; Phillip (Betty), Newport Station; Laurie (Ann), New Minas; daughters, Marion (Don) Wilkens, Falmouth; Gene Brown, Newtonville Rd.; Christina (Ivan) Brown, Wolfville; Faye (Richard) Palmeter, Avonport; Glenice (Steven) Misner, Chipman Brook; 28 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mae was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Brown; sons, Walton and Lloyd Brown; daughter, Stella Veinot; grandchildren, Ronda, Vicki, Ricky, Tony Jr. and John and 9 brothers and sisters. Visitation for Mae will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Saturday June 27 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville (902-542-2151) where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday June 28. Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will take place in Greenfield Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Society or charity of choice.
