95, Black Rock, passed away Saturday April 18, 2009 in Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edith (Coldwell) Thomas. Alberta was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Alberta is survived by her chosen children, daughter, Deanna Thomas, Black Rock; son, Kenneth Brydon, Black Rock; brother, Louis Thomas, Windsor; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Allison) Fisher, Somerset; Jean Brydon, Black Rock; brother-in-law, Vere Brydon, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Paul (Tammy) Pineo, Ponoka, Alb.; Harold Pineo, Black Rock; Janet Bentley, Falmouth; Patricia Vieira, Truro; Ronald (Wendy) Pineo, Georgetown, Ont.; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews & special friends, Pauline Watkins, Boynton Beach, Florida; Jean Calkin, Black Rock. Besides her parents, Alberta was predeceased by her husband, Chester Brydon; brother, Fenton Thomas and grandson Allan Pineo. There will be no visitation by the family's request. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday April 22, 2009 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S. B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900). Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Black Rock Baptist Church or to Kings Co., S.P.C.A.
