82 of The Look Off, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2008 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on the Look Off, he was a son of the late Wylie and Hilda (Martin) Corkum. Cecil lived on the Look Off all of his life. He owned and operated his own Auto Repair and Heavy Equipment Business. He retired in 1988 and continued to work on his own vehicles as well as his family's. He had a great love for his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting and cutting wood. Cecil will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 yrs., Grace; sons, Ken, Look Off, George (Carol Schofield), Look Off; daughters, Judy (Brian Awalt), South Alton, Sharon (Mike Perdue) Corkum, Alb., Sandra Lyons, Kentville; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Cecil was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Leopold. Visitation for Mr. Corkum will be held 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151) where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday November 22, 2008. Rev. Dr. Dan Gibson officiating. Interment will take place in Hilaton Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
