60, of Lumby B.C. formerly of Cambridge, passed away suddenly Wednesday July 23, 2008 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Millville, she was a daughter of Regina (Copage) and the late Bernard Toney. Elizabeth worked in nursing. She was a very caring person, she had her long hair cut short and gave it to the Children's Cancer Society for wigs. She loved playing bingo and cards. Elizabeth is remembered as a lovable, fun person. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Terrence Canning, Lumby, B.C.; adopted son, Shane; mother, Regina Toney, Cambridge; brothers, Gerald, Cambridge, Allan (Marilyn), Cambridge, Brian, Cambridge, Mark (Charlene), Cambridge, Wayne (Ronda), Calgary; sisters, Eileen (Garnet) Lloyd, Waterville, Sandra Usher, Cambridge; special niece, Debra Toney; special friend, Al Farquhar; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Besides her father, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother David, 1 brother in infancy; 3 sisters in infancy; brother-in-law, Robert Usher. Visitation for Mrs. Canning will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday July 27 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S. B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900) from where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday July 28, Rev. Glen Donnellan officiating. Interment will take place in St. Bernadette's Cemetery, Annapolis Valley First Nation, Cambridge Station. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
