84, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, were she resided formerly of Canning. Born in Sheffield, Mills Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Asa and Viola (Blenkhorn) Steele. Pansy was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Pansy was very active in many of the Evergreen Home daily activities. She loved to paint pictures and share with many friends and family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by daughter, Marie (Doug) Weir; Kentville; son, Garnet (Bessie), Kentville; grandchildren, Tracy, Corey, Joy, Sherri, Chasitity and Elisha, and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph, New Brunswick, and Asa, Ontario. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merrill; brothers, Lester, George, and Rose; sisters, Lillian, Casey, Florence, and Iva. Visitation for Pansy will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, with funeral service on Thursday, June 26, at 3 p.m., both in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home Chapel, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151), with Rev. R. Cross officiating. Burial will take place in Hillaton Cemetery, Hillaton, Kings Co. Donations in Pansy's memory can be made to the Evergreen Home for Special Care or Canadian Cancer Society.
