50, of Greenwich, formerly of Melanson, passed away Tuesday October 3, 2007 in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Kentville, he was the son of Velma (Jordan) Bent and the late Charles Bent. Chuck was employed with the town of Wolfville for 22 years with the public works department. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and his Tim Horton's coffee. He had a special love for his granddaughter, Shilow who was everything to him. Chuck will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Chuck is survived by his mother, Velma, Greenwich; son, David, Melanson; daughter, Nellie (Joey Viner), Kentville; former wife, Patricia Atwell, Berwick; brothers, Michael (Susan), Sackville; Robert (Heidi) NL; sisters, Heather (Harvey Bouger), Beverly (Floyd Bolter), both of P.E.I; special friend, Mary Jean Borg, Wilmot. Chuck was predeceased by his father Charles. Visitation for Mr. Bent will be held from 7-9 pm Friday October 5 in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151) where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm Saturday October 6 with Rev. Ellen Hunt officiating. Burial will take place in Gaspereau Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to a trust fund for his granddaughter.
