90, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Monday September 1, 2008, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Somerset, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Louis and Flora Bell (Armstrong) Best. Florence had lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for 50 years, where she had been a member of the First Baptist Church, having worked at the Church Nursery & Preschool for 20 years. Florence ran a home for troubled children for one year prior to moving home to Nova Scotia. Also while in Florida she had worked at a Ford Dealership, Palm Beach Country Club & at Sears. When returning to Nova Scotia she became a member of the Berwick Baptist Church. Florence enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and friends and loved to sew, knit, crochet and do crossword puzzles. Surviving are her daughter, Crystal Lynn (Lad) Chapman, Swaziland; grandchildren, Squire, Wyatt, Crusoe & Parker Chapman; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Best, Port Williams; Norma Best, Greenwich; nieces, Linda Best; Wenda Furlong; Janice Smith; Louise Little; Nancy Porter; Pat Ells; nephews, Greg Lowes & Donald Coggins. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Frances Lowes; Pauline Coggins; brothers, Frederick William & George Louis Best; nephews, Ted Coggins; Leonard Best. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service for Florence will take place 3 p.m. Saturday September 6, in the Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to any charity.
