82 of Aylesford passed away Monday March 2, 2009 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Merigomish , she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Arbuckle) Mason. Shirley worked as a nurse in Berwick Hospital for over 40 yrs specializing in obstetrics. She supported her husband, Paul in various ways throughout his many occupational ventures. Shirley was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Shirley is survived by her sons, Mark (Cathy), Somerset, Michael (Rhonda), Aylesford; grandchildren, Thomas and Emily Baltzer, Aylesford, Adam Baltzer, Aylesford, Amy Baltzer, Halifax, Holly Baltzer, Somerset. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Paul; sisters, Hilda Roy, Ruby Day, Charlotte MacKay, Emily MacEachern, Eva Whynott & Virginia Sweet. Visitation for Mrs. Baltzer will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday March 5 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S. B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900). A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 6 in Aylesford Baptist Church. Rev. Clyde Lowe officiating. A private family interment will take place in Aylesford Union Cemetery.
