It is with the deepest heartfelt regret and much shedding of tears that we announce the passing of our beloved Ronald Frederick - Ronnieì³ Wilson on April 24, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He passed away with his lovingly devoted wife Anne always by his side, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton. Officiating at the funeral service at St. Edward?¢s Anglican Church in Clementsport on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm will be his good friend Priest-in-charge Reverend Gordon Neish, followed by burial in the church cemetery, with reception to follow at the Clementsport Legion. Ronnie was born on 7 Jun 1949 at Annapolis Royal to George Frederick Wilson and Juanita Ingrid (Brown), and spent most of his life living at home on Guinea Road in Clementsport. He was a member of St. Edward?¢s Anglican Church, the Royal Canadian Legion Clementsport Branch, the Clementsport Good Neighbour?¢s Club, and the Cornwallis Military Museum. He was well known for his generosity of time, talent, and crafts. He was a jack of all trades and could turn his hand to almost any task. He was a self-taught mechanic, an automobile painter, a sheet metal worker trained in Halifax, a lumberman; plus an avid woodworker, very proud of the many birdhouses and other crafts that he made. He continuously donated crafts to fundraisers, especially to the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 122 Jam Sessions which he helped run monthly. He loved to be in the woods working with his buddies Rollie Boudreau and Roger Feener. He thoroughly enjoyed his chats with family and good friends.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie (Keizer) of 30 years; sister Ingrid (Wilson) Awalt: - You were always in my corner and I will love and miss you forever, Sis.ì³ her husband Kevin, and their children Daniel (Tara Brooks) and Jenna (Chris Jones); his brother-in-laws, Walter Keizer (Eleanor Wamboldt), Paul Keizer (Sharon Vantassel), Randy Keizer (Tina Barton), and Danny Keizer (Cindy Spragg). His stepfather William (Bill) Griffin. Uncles Arnold - Arnieì³ Wilson and Chester - Chetì³ Wilson; Aunts Doris (Riley) Brown, Joyce (Foote) Wilson, Marion (Wilson) Gates, Patricia (Wamboldt) (Wright) McDonald, her husband Art McDonald, and her ex-husband Bob Wright. Ronnie is also survived by his five Robinson stepdaughters: Sherry (Robert Comeau), Wendy (Dale Orr), Peggy (Donald Cleaves), Cindy (Tom Braggard), Mary (Timothy Adams); and by his step-grandchildren and their families: Victoria Comeau (Jason Misener), her sons Alexander and Wade and his daughter Mikaila; Christopher Comeau; Amanda Cottreau and her son Garrick; Rachel Cleaves; Todd Schnare (Shelly Baker) and their sons Nickolie and Jakeup; Jeremy Grant (Aislinn Nitsche) and their son Gabriel; Gary Robinson and Vanessa Adams. Ronnie will be greatly missed by his loyal dog and good buddy Prince.
Ronnie was predeceased by Aunts Violet - Vieì³ (Fortier) Wilson wife of Arnie, Alice (Robar) Wilson wife of Chet, Joyce Fay Wilson aged 1 year; Uncles Russell Elwood - Josieì³ Wilson; Lorne Douglas - Dougì³ Wilson; Charles Raymond Wilson aged 6 years, Raymond Wilson (Arnie?¢s twin), Charles Gates husband of Marion Wilson, William Brown husband of Doris Riley; and by his father?¢s companion, Hilda Windsor. His father and mother-in-law, Walter Boyd Keizer and Marion Bauckman, and stepfather in law Arthur (Stanley) MacDonald Keizer Also by paternal great-grandparents William Charles Wilson and Mary Louisa (Berry), George Wyman Shaw and Mary Elizabeth (Minchin); maternal great-grandparents Arthur Manning Brown and Lillian Gertrude (Dukeshire), John Burpee Shaw and Gyda (Berry); paternal grandparents Frederick Elwood Wilson and Roxie Fay (Shaw); maternal grandparents Ainslie Walter Brown and Hilda May (Shaw); his father and mother, and by his half-brother Terence Lynn - Terryì³ Brown. Terry is survived by his wife Leda, daughter Juanita Sherry Lynn, grandson Terry, and by many stepchildren and grandchildren.
There are not enough words to express the gratitude that we feel towards: Ingrid and her family for allowing Ronnie to live out almost all of his last days in their home; our family and the members of the community and church who rallied together in fundraising efforts plus gave of themselves in so many touching ways; the medical staff at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth II Centennial and Dixon; Dartmouth General Hospital; and the fantastic homecare staff.
