Obituary of Foster Douglas Jollymore
Foster Douglas Jollymore
October 22, 1933 - October 24, 2025
Foster Douglas Jollymore passed away quietly at home, at the age of 92, surrounded by family.
Foster is survived by his wife, Jeanie; daughter, Layne (Matthew Fancy); cherished granddaughter, Cassia; and sister, Reta (Vaughan Meister). He was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Idella Jollymore; sisters Ruth (Raymond Lake), Thelma (Frank Kaiser), Daisy (Vincent Pye), and Olive (Alcide Thibault); and brothers Basil (Jean), Lindsay, and Karl (Phyllis).
Foster will be remembered as a quiet man with a quick wit and a superb sense of humor. He was also a hard worker, beginning his working life at an early age in the manganese mine. He later worked for the highway department, and then in the pulpwood industry. He finished his career in the Christmas trees, and spent his retirement years at home, which, along with peaceful forest, was his favourite place to be. Foster's family meant everything to him, and his departure has left a huge hole in our world.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Foster and all who knew him, at the Serenity Funeral Chapel in New Ross, on November 7 (Friday) from 6:30 to 8:30.
The funeral will be held at the Christ Church (Anglican) in New Ross, on Saturday, November 8, at 2:00.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ Church (Anglican) . All are welcome to attend. Burial to take place at a later date.
