Obituary of Madelyn Elaine Goodwin

Madelyn Elaine (Cameron) Goodwin - Aug 11-1952 - Oct 24-2025

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Madelyn Elaine Goodwin, 73 on Friday October 24, 2025 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS

Madelyn is lovingly remembered by her son, Christopher (Terrance Sanford), Clementsport. sisters, Vivian Smith of Woods Harbour; Darlene Atwood, Barrington. brother, Roger Cameron, Woods Harbour. Many cousins, nieces and nephews, father of her children, Jay Goodwin, Cape Breton NS and her dear cat, Ottis. 

Madelyn was predeceased by parents, Dexter and Iva (Chetwyn) Cameron of Upper Woods Harbour. daughter, Kimberly Dawn Goodwin (1995). sisters, Vickey Smith, Burnette Stoddart. brother Arthur Leroy “Rocky” Cameron.

Madelyn started her working career while being single mom of her two children in a fish processor plant, Cape Sable Island. She was an extreme hard worker and it wasn’t long before moved on to Environmental Services, where she worked for several organizations until her retirement.  She enjoyed a night out at Bingo, her scratch tickets, cross word books and puzzles or reading a great novel.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Drive, Coldbrook (Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Hwy 303, Digby, NS. 902 245-2444) NS.

A celebration of life will be held in Madelyn’s honor on Thursday November 6^th from 1-3 at the Clementsport Legion Br. 122 Clementsport NS. The burial will take place at a later date at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Woods Harbour, Shelburne Country, NS.  

In luie of flowers donations i may be made to the Clementsport Legion Br.# 122 or to a charity of one’s choice.
