Obituary of Robert James Dalrymple
**In Loving Memory of Robert James Dalrymple**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Robert James Dalrymple (Bob/Bobby), who left us peacefully on March 5th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old.
A devoted father to Ellen Marie Fraser (James) of Sherwood Park and Robert Charles James Dalrymple of Edmonton, and proud Grandfather to Brooklyn Ellen Fraser (Ellen and James). Robert found joy in the simple, cherished moments. He was a man who loved his children deeply and lived fully. His greatest gift was his children, and he adored his grandchild Brooklyn, she was the light of his world.
He also leaves to mourn his beloved sisters Carolyn Fisher (Dalrymple) of Lower Sackville, Mae Fleming (Paul) of Wellington, Janette Roos (Gavin) of Kamloops, and brother Roy Dalrymple (Kelly) of Enfield. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters Eileen Atkinson of Edmonton, Darlene Dalrymple of Kamloops and Father James Lawrence Dalrymple.
Robert had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and sports. Fishing, hunting, hockey and the quiet beauty of nature were his greatest passions. Whether casting a line into the water or tracking through the woods, he was most at peace surrounded by the things he loved nature and his children. His lessons, stories, and the memories he created in those moments will live on in all who knew him.
After many years of strength and resilience throughout his illness Robert has now gone to his final resting place—he will forever be ‘Gone Fishing’. While our hearts are heavy with his loss, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and no longer in pain.
He will forever be missed and his legacy of love for his children, nature, The Flyers and life itself will never be forgotten and continue to inspire us all.
Go Flyers Go...
