Obituary of Lenlie Clifford Atwell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lenlie Clifford Atwell, 80 of Sunken Lake on February 23, 2025, after enduring a prolonged illness at the Grandview Manor in Berwick. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Norman and Mabel (Walsh) Atwell.

Lenlie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In his early years, Lenlie was employed at Shaw Resources Keddy Operation in Coldbrook and First Choice Construction in Kentville. He loved family gatherings, his dogs, playing darts and enjoyed listening to country music.

Lenlie is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Farris) of Sunken Lake; sons, Christopher (Dawne) Atwell of Sackville and Jeremy (Vivian) Atwell of Riverview, NB; daughter, Lisa (Nick) Reese of Coldbrook; grandchildren, Seth, Liam, Abby, Drew, Chloe, Bailey, Xavier, Josh and Amara; great-grandchildren, Scarlotte and Ezekiel; sisters, Murna Tracy of Winfield, BC, Pauline Keddy of North Alton and Freda Brewster of New Minas; sisters-in-law, Pearl Atwell of Campbell River, BC and Doris Atwell of Canaan as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lenlie was predeceased by his son, Timothy David Atwell; brothers, Walter, Burton and Robert “Bob” Atwell and sisters, Aileen Strong, Beverley Myles and Hilda Krull.

The family would like to thank the Grandview Manor, the doctors, nurses and staff for their care during Lenlie’s stay.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday march 2, 2025 at 11am  in the Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park drive, Coldbrook, NS. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
