Obituary of Audrey Geraldine Coldwell
Audrey Geraldine Coldwell, 96 passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Greenwich on July 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Budd Cedric Coldwell and Bertha Ann (Norman) Coldwell.
Audrey was raised in Gaspereau, its where she spent many days helping on her family farm as well as receiving her elementary education. Later, Audrey went on to receive her high school diploma in Wolfville before going to Mack Business College in Kentville. Audrey’s first place of employment was with Canada Life Assurance in Halifax where she spent 11+ years before moving on to The National Harbors Board, where she remained until retirement in early January 1989. In 1964, The family farm was sold and Audrey and her family moved to Highland Ave in Wolfville where Audrey resided until her health declined and she was hospitalized for several months before taking residence in the Wolfville Nursing Home in September 2014.
Audrey was a kind, caring, compassionate and warm-hearted person, she brought joy to her own life by bringing joy to others. It was rewarding for her to load her car up with her lifelong friend, Blanche Duncanson and as many friends as her car would hold and head out for some sight seeing in the country or at times, the city they would also go for a bite to eat.
“For Audrey it was a joy to keep in touch with family and friends, each month when the Gaspereau Gazette came out she would pick up enough copies to mail them, whether near or far. On every special occasion they were blessed with a card from Audrey, her caring, loving spirit will never be forgotten”
In addition to her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her brother, Keith and his wife Gladys.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 1, 2025 at 11:00am in the Gaspereau Baptist Church. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA or a charity of your choice.
